Remedy

I hand printed an edition of prints using a linoleum block and using water-based ink for an advanced printmaking course. The concept of “Remedy” relates to the good that has come about while being in quarantine during the Covid-19. This good being a rekindled connection of a long-distance friendship through playing games on the PlayStation 4. Both illustrations of the koi and bird are drawn in a traditional American and Japanese style of tattoos. The illustrations are direct references to the tattoos of video game antagonists from the Yakuza and Farcry series. Surrounding the illustrations is an abstract representation of the ever-changing cycle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
